Several years ago when Rick and I were a part of Bob Proctor’s year long coaching program we were encouraged to set a goal for the year, then we were asked to double it. Well at first our goals were exciting, but after a few months we realized that they lacked meaning to us. They were great but they didn’t stir our souls. I realized I wanted purpose! That was how I described it. I wanted my life to matter and to have a reason to have a goal.
The same month we began the coaching program I also came across Marnie Marcus, an author and a person who inspires others. She was giving away a short online course that took place over several weeks. The focus was to understand who you are and to come to love and accept yourself. Once her course was completed I had discovered the wonderful woman within me and wrote my personal statement of ‘the woman I choose to be and value’.
I found that once I had a clear understanding, (clarity keeps popping up) of ‘the woman I choose to be and value’ I began to wonder: What was I going to do being this woman and with this life I was given? As my awareness increased my purpose became clear and the words for my purpose statement began to flow. “I encourage, inspire and empower individuals and families to a clear understanding of divine purpose and unlimited potential and the power of living a purpose filled life.”
The power of my purpose statement changed my life. It gave me direction and a great sense of self worth. I knew and felt that I was a divine being with unlimited potential, and it felt so good to have this desire to serve others grow within me. In session 3 of Parent Date we guide you through a process to bring more clarity into your life so you too can write out your personal purpose statement. www.ParentDate.ca
